Adbusters: Advertisement Awareness
In response to the First Things First 2000 manifesto, I decided to make an effort for the public to be aware that the advertisements around them were always influencing their decisions (whether consciously or not) after talking with many people who didn't think it had any effect on them.I recalled a passive game we used to play between friends in which you would hide clothes-pegs on each others' clothing without them noticing, and thought it was a good metaphor for how someone could go about their daily life, blissfully unaware that something had them in its hold.
The tag reads 'Everyone is affected by advertising // whether they realise it or not': the statement's good for the double-sided tag, since the sentence makes sense no matter which side they read first.
